Growers' Walks at High Mowing Organic Seeds

High Mowing is hosting five Grower Walks at our Trial Gardens in Wolcott, VT. These walks are targeted towards professional vegetable growers; new growers and apprentices are welcome! Each session will be focused on specific crop groups, but there will also be time to tour our 3-acre trial and vegetable breeding garden with over 700 seasonal varieties and to share your input and questions. This is an opportunity to connect with other professional growers and with High Mowing staff to share tips about growing specific crops, handling pests and disease for those crops, and looking at what new varieties may soon be available organically. We will be soliciting feedback about varieties YOU would like to see us carry!

All Growers' Walks are free of charge!

Zucchini, Cucumbers & Summer Squash! Aug 5th, Wednesday - 5-7pm

Connect with HMS staff and other growers to learn more about growing Zucchini, Cucumbers, and Summer Squash. We'll discuss pests, disease, breeding varieties and the current state of the seed industry. In addition, High Mowing would like feedback and suggestions from professional growers to inform their selection of varieties available in future years. There will be a number of varieties in the field for review. Presented by Heather Jerrett, R&D Trials Manager, Tom Stearns, President, and the HMS Sales Team.

September 2, Wednesday: Melons, Winter Squash, Pumpkins (No Charge)

September 29, Tuesday: Fall Brassicas, Cold Hardy Greens (No charge)

Directions To Trial & Showcase Gardens

From Morrisville
Drive east on Rt15 through the town Wolcott. Take left onto East Hill Rd, at cemetery right outside of Wolcott town center. Follow up the hill and take right onto Marsh Rd near top of hill. Follow road a few miles until you see High Mowing greenhouses and parking signs.

From Hardwick
Drive west on Rt15. Pass intersection of Rt14 N and follow for three miles. Watch for sign for blind turn onto Marsh Rd on right. Take right onto Marsh Rd. Follow Marsh road up hill, bear left at top of hill where road forks. You will see overlook of fields on left. Park in designated parking area at field entrance by greenhouses.
