Organic Medium Red Clover - A beautiful cover crop which is used for nitrogen fixation, hay, pasture and green manure. Clover can fix 100 lbs/acre of nitrogen; its long taproots bring up nutrients from the depths of the soil. Medium red clover has somewhat smaller leaves and stems than the Mammoth red clover and shows much more vigorous regrowth after mowing or grazing. Although a perennial, it is best treated as a biennial. Plant in spring, summer, or fall and let overwinter. Incorporate after its second full season of growth. Seeding rate: 20 lbs/acre, 1/2 lb/1,000 sq ft.(Trifolium pratense)
