Field Peas/ Oats Mix Cover Crop

Organic Field Peas/Oats Mix - 70% peas / 30% oats by weight. This is a great grass/legume combo for nitrogen fixation, deep root penetration, winter cover and more. Can be sown from spring through late summer. Sow no later than 6-8 weeks before first fall frost for use as a winter cover that winter-kills at about 15°F. Cold hardy enough to grow long into the fall; leaves behind a great mulch for soil protection. Seeding rate: 180 lbs/acre, 5-6 lbs/1,000 sq ft.
