Delicate whorls of vibrant purple petals. This late summer bloomer is quite attractive in flower beds for bees and hummingbirds. Be careful as the main stalk is covered with sharp thorns. This annual loves the sun. Cold stratification is necessary for germination (5-10 days in the fridge). Direct seed spring through early summer 1/4” deep, thin to a 2’ spacing.
