WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE FEATURED IN OUR 2020 CATALOG?

Are you growing any of our varieties this year? If so, consider taking a “hero” photo and sending it our way!  We want to include growers from all over the map in our next catalog.

Here’s what we’re looking for in a “hero” shot:

- one (or more) people

- one (or more) varieties within the same crop type

Harvest photos are great, but it can be any activity at your farm or garden that shows off the crop. Seeding, transplanting, washing, packing, displaying at market…  whatever looks great!

Keep in mind the narrow format of these photos, as most Instagram-style (square) photos won’t fit nicely here. Read on for our helpful 3-Step Framing Guide (below).

If you’ve got larger TIF or RAW image files (>10 MB), please dropbox them to us (using same email above) and be sure to email us with your contact info & details on the pictured varieties.

We’ll consider all photos sent to us by Sept. 1st, 2019. Any photos not selected for our catalog may be shared on our Instagram page.

HERO FRAMING GUIDE

Since our heroes are narrower than most camera & smartphone images, we’ve created this 3-Step guide to help ensure you’re fitting in those smiling faces & beautiful veggies and flowers. This guide is not mandatory, just a helpful tool to get better images.

STEP 1

Right-click & save this image file to your smartphone. (this guide should fit iPhones 5, 6, 7, 8 & most Androids)

(If you’re using another camera, you can take a picture of this framing guide, taking care to completely fill your camera’s frame horizontally, and then follow the same taping instructions below).

STEP 2

Open the image on your phone in full-screen mode. (You should still be able to see the green outline all the way around).

STEP 3

Cut thin strips of any colored tape you’ve got around and stick them to the black bars labeled “TAPE” in the image.  (We don’t recommend leaving duct tape on your screen for multiple days, as it may leave adhesive that can be a pain to clean off).

You’re good to go! When taking photos, just be sure you can see what you want within that frame (usually this means stepping back a little from what you may be used to).
