Used for centuries in the Middle East as a culinary and medicinal herb, Za'atar has a sharp oregano aroma and flavor.
It shares its name with the popular Middle Eastern spice mix. Perennial evergreen with beautiful, fuzzy-soft, gray-green leaves. Plants are frost hardy with a semi-upright growing habit, producing tiny, white, edible flowers in early summer. Classic Thymol type essential oils: Thymol (51%), Carvacrol (23%). 4,600 seeds/gram.
