Introducing our Trials Manager's favorite New Varieties for 2023.

Taylor Maida is High Mowing's Product and Trials Manager, and she loves growing and evaluating new varieties here on our organic trials farm in Hyde Park, Vermont. All new additions to our catalog need Taylor's stamp of approval, and her high standards deliver high quality, reliable and flavorful organic varieties that you can have confidence in. Says Taylor, "It is so fun to see how different each variety is and it's even more exciting when they surprise you with how amazing they are. Trying new varieties each year keeps growing vegetables interesting because you never know how much more you can love another fennel, kale or carrot, until you see it!"

Here are some of Taylor's favorites, including this collection's pack size details:

• Arun F1 Kale - 50 seeds. "This green curly kale is amazing. It is so easy to harvest and bunch because the plants are upright, the mid-rib is very straight with long stems. And it is dark green too!"
• Dragon F1 Fennel - 25 seeds. "This is the best tasting fennel! It is so sweet and mild but still anise-y. Not only is it beautiful and bolt resistant, it is upright too"
• Bollin Carrot - 250 seeds. "This is a great carrot! It's earlier than Dolciva and stores well. It is sweet and delicious right out of the field and the tops have held up to disease pressure as well."
• Rosa Scarlatta Radicchio - 100 seeds. "I never knew I could love radicchio the way I do after eating this. It really takes a salad to another level because the leaves are so beautifully colored, and sweet with a silky texture. I think everyone should try this once as it will change people's thoughts on radicchio. I wish I could eat a salad made with this everyday."
• Tiara F1 Cabbage - 25 seeds. "It's super-fast, cute, small and tasty, really juicy! It takes no time to grow!"
